Colored Pencil on Pastelmat

Reference: My own

Framed in a dark blue rustic wood frame, double mat.

 

My inspiration for this piece was from a  photo I took in the fall in Michigan of my Japanese Snowball bush. The vibrant colors of the leaves would soon be brown and gray and covered with snow. I wanted to capture this colorful last hoorah and push it a few levels so I used 52 colored pencils and applied many layers.
